Last month I started in Second Life a new adventure: I curate the Art India Gallery. From now I am one of those who are hanging nice virtual pictures on nice virtual walls ;)
Or I do my best at least!

At the same time I came in contact with William Weaver (paperwork Resident), who posted countless breathtaking photos and videos taken in SL on Flickr. I needed a fast solution as first exhibtion and so I found it a good idea to ask him as he might be new for many in the art world of SL. William not only agreed, he did much more than expected. He build a whole gallery for his works, inspired by a photo taken in the "Oscar Niemeyer International Cultural Centre"  in Spain. Niemeyer is the designer of this centre as well as of the town Brasilia.

William about his 'build 010': " The forms of structure refer to the work of Carl Jung, the relationship between symbols and the unconscious. The most important symbol or archetype was the Mandala. The circle in the square;  so the circular room flowed from that concept of a centre through a circle, where you can see the moon and you can see it again through the hole in the square."

But back to his images. To me it is fascinating that William's photos are seen as taken in SL. Everyone of us who loves virtual photography knows how time consuming the settings in the viewer can be. Tired of that, William as laymen in programming, created in many, many hours his own photography tool. The tool does not affect the viewer experience, but allows to change all the settings all in one place.

With the help of the Firestorm team he prepared the tool for this viewer. Phototools, as he named it, is now accessible for every Firestorm 4. user. And it will be part of Firestorm relase 5. Find here a video of the usage:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/61900109@N02/7070702407/  and download here:  https://sites.google.com/site/phototools4sl/Phototools with WL Plus for Firestorm 4.zip?attredirects=0&d=1

William Weaver has updated his work with many never seen photos. You can get them as gift.

Taxi: sadly gone

P.S.: All photos in this post are - of course - taken by William Weaver.
